Fiddle solo, Jack Eldrige - piano, Gennet 5445. In Sliabh Luachra this is played as a slide, and called the Weaver's. Many tunes in 4/4 can be played in 12/8 in this fashion, which perhaps is a source of new material that hasn't been tapped recently. Certainly hearing Sliabh Luachra musicians play the slide, you wouldn't suspect its ancestry in Scottish music.
Paddy Killoran recorded another tune called Highland Bonnet in the 30s, and his recording will be available on this site as well.
